TE MATA CHEESE UNVEILS STYLISH NEW CHEESE LABEL

HAVELOCK NORTH (November 25, 2008) – Te Mata Cheese is celebrating the launch of their new Brie and Camembert 125g round labels. These new labels are a significant departure from the labels originally established in 2005.

The new labels feature clean modern lines and contemporary fonts and incorporate the new simplified Te Mata Cheese logo.

The new labels were created by food branding specialists, Flavour, from Gisborne.

“Our aim was to achieve instant stand-out on shelf for Te Mata within the cluttered cheese category. We have developed a strong, contemporary look as a way to differentiate Te Mata from their competitors, using bold colours and no imagery as a real point of difference,” says Rome Smith, Managing Director of Flavour.

“But we also wanted to create packaging which allowed consumers to easily choose between cheese types. There’s an established ‘red for camembert and blue for brie’, for instance, so we introduced the bands of colour across the packaging.”

Benny Mathews, Cheesemaker for Te Mata Cheese had this to say, “I am thrilled to see such an innovative design for our Brie and Camembert 125g rounds. The look of the labels exudes quality just like our cheeses!”

The new label Te Mata Brie and Camembert 125g rounds will be available from supermarkets throughout New Zealand.
